Active Ingredients
In addition to their functional properties, phospholipids exert various positive physiological effects. As a major component of cell membranes, phosphatidylcholine (PC) plays an important role in the formation and renewal of such membranes as well as in the regeneration of damaged cells, especially in the intestinal mucosa. Moreover, a supplementation with PC shows positive effects on liver regeneration and the blood lipid status. Furthermore, PC is a natural form of the vitamin-like nutrient choline in our diets. The European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA) has authorized several health claims for choline.
