Egg phospholipids are highly purified fractions obtained from hen egg yolk. Since their composition is closely related to that of human cells, egg phospholipids are highly suitable for parenteral applications. They are mainly constituents of fat emulsions, either for parenteral nutrition or in drug-containing formulations.
